IUP Scholarships: We at IUP invest in your success! Our IUP scholarships honor accomplishments in the arts, athletics, and academia. We are aware of you and the contributions you have made to our scholarship program.

Equally important, students who we think will excel both at IUP and in the professional sphere are given scholarships. Thanks to the kindness of friends and alumni, IUP students like you can fulfill their aspirations.

Scholarships for IUP Admissions

• No further application for scholarships is necessary. Upon acceptance to IUP, incoming freshmen are immediately considered for this academic scholarship.

•Sutton, President, and Trustee academic scholarship tiers offer between $3,000 and $5,000 for the 2024–2025 academic year. These awards are renewable for a total of four years, or until the recipient has their first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first, provided that all academic conditions are completed. Enrollment must be maintained full-time (fall and spring).

•The competitive admissions scholarships are determined by your high school GPA and, if available, your SAT/ACT scores at the time of acceptance. To be eligible for the scholarships, one does not need to have SAT or ACT results.

•After certified transcripts are received, transfer students are eligible for the renewable IUP Transfer Scholarship based on their total college GPA. And then, the prize amounts for the academic year 2024–2025 vary from $3,000 to $4,000. Enrollment must be completed full-time.

• Furthermore, three weeks after being admitted to IUP, you will be told if you are the recipient of a scholarship through admissions.

Bright Students

Besides, the Promising Scholars program, which encourages access for first-generation and highly accomplished minority college students, awards scholarships.

On our campus, the Promising Scholars program promotes inclusion, equity, and diversity. Promising Scholars program-eligible students are encouraged to apply and schedule interviews.

Moreover, The Promising Scholars program requires a successful interview to be enrolled. Students enrolled in the program who qualify for this scholarship will get notification of their award.

Scholarships for Cook Honors College

All applicants to the Cook Honors College are qualified for scholarships. For more details and instructions on how to apply to Cook Honors College, see their website.

Talent-based Scholarships in the Fine Arts

Moreover, Fine Arts grants are given to incoming students who pass an audition or submit a portfolio.

Sports Scholarships

Equally important, IUP participates in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference at the Division II NCAA level. The IUP Athletics Department administers athletic scholarships per all NCAA Division II rules and regulations.

Scholarships for National Achievement

Furthermore, National Merit Scholarships and Fellowships, which are given to students with the best academic standing, are open to current IUP students.

Typically, undergraduate applicants apply during or following their junior year. IUP need-based grants and scholarships are given out per eligibility at the time of awarding and cannot be changed owing to over-awards unless the student has resources that are more than the expenses.

And then, grants and scholarships offered by IUP will be modified if resources prove to be more costly.

Again, if a student updates their information or the verification process results in a change in the EFC, need-based rewards will be modified to reflect the student’s updated eligibility based on the updated EFC.

The IUP non-need-based scholarship will be modified to guarantee that resources do not surpass cost if a student receiving it has more resources than needed.
